Since we hand pour each candle carefully with love, we want the love to last. There are a few candle care tips we want to share with you to ensure your candle will last as long as possible.
•Trim your wicks before relighting!
~ Sadly, this step is often missed which leads to soot (black residue) that builds up in your vessel. You may see smoke or flickering from the wick. Trimming the wick before burning will help you achieve a clean burn experience and lengthen the burn time of your candle. For easy candle care, we recommend using wick trimmers. It's a win win !
wooden wicks: trim the wick down to 3/16” height above the wax
cotton wicks : trim the wick down to 1/4” height above the wax
• Burning Time
~We suggest burning your candle so the wax melts to the edges of the vessel each time it is lit. When your candle is lit for too short of time, tunneling will occur. Tunneling occurs when wax builds up around the perimeter of your vessel.
~For most candles an even melt pool will take approximately 2 hours. Again, don't rush...love takes time.
When you have reached the end of your candle, feel free to use it as a cute vase or holder. If you have purchased a ceramic vessel, don't forget about our Recycle Program. We can refill your vessel for you!
